Governor Godswill Akpabio, had yesterday April 1st sent the names of two (2) nominees for confirmation as Commissioner and Special Adviser to the State House of Assembly.
This was contained in a letter signed by the State Chief Executive and was read at the floor of the House by the Acting Clerk.
The Governor requested the House to confirm the nomination of the following people:
1. Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk – Commissioner; and
2. Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Eyinna, from Mkpanak, Ibeno LGA – Special Adviser
2. Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Eyinna, from Mkpanak, Ibeno LGA – Special Adviser
It will be recalled that during the town hall meeting in Eket, the Paramount Ruler of Ibeno made a strong case of Ibeno LGA not being represented in the state EXCO which prompted the governor to direct the Paramount Ruler and the State House of Assembly representative from the area to come up with a name to fill in the position.
The Governor also used the medium to solicit for the Legislator’s continued unalloyed cooperation with the Executive arm.
Good development, indeed the dividend of democracy for the good people of Ibeno.
