Former Lagos Governor Michael Otedola Laid to Rest
The funeral service for ex-Lagos State governor, Sir Michael Otedola was held today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Epe. After the service, he was laid to rest at his residence.
His family, friends, and some dignitaries including President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola; former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo; Aliko Dangote, and many others, The Nation reports.
In a tribute to Otedola, Jonathan expressed that the ex-governor had served Lagos and Nigeria in an outstanding way.
“He has left his marks on the sands of
time, even though he ruled Lagos State for just 23 months but was able
to leave an indelible mark which has been tremendous in the development
of the state and Nigeria,” he said.
Otedola died earlier this month at age 87 due to a stroke related ailment.
